What We Do
Jensuya Belly Dance is the performance art and teaching company of my husband, Robert Peak, and me, Jennifer "Jensuya" Carpenter-Peak. With a focus on dance and music of the Near East and Mediterranean regions, we teach and entertain with Middle Eastern music, belly dance, folk dance, and culture through public and private performances, online courses, workshops, YouTube videos, and education programs. TarabRaqs Mid East Arts Education is our school division of Jensuya Belly Dance.
What we do
“Jensuya is an amazing teacher—she is a gifted dancer AND teacher—she knows how to teach beginners through advanced. A consummate professional. Her workshops are SO FUN!”
Jensuya Belly Dance School
We teach belly dance organically. From your very first belly dance class, we are integrating the music, relevant culture, body fitness, and modifications so that each lesson with us is like taking a little journey to the Middle East as you learn to belly dance.

“What an awesome evening! The pair (Jensuya & Bob) make a great combo—and it is SO RARE to have live drumming as you dance. I've seen them several times performing...fantastic show.” —Tara S.
Belly Dance Night at Alfredo's
Join us monthly for live drumming and belly dancing at Alfredo's Mediterranean Grille in historic Charles Town, West Virginia—home of the Charles Town Races.
“Jennifer did an amazing job of...presenting the content in an incredibly organized and accessible way...”
